Jogging

Yesterday I resumed jogging my normal route that I have been neglecting since before Christmas. I have a gym membership, but I freaking hate the location by my house (24 Hour Fitness on Sunset/Vine). Every time I go there I can't stand the people. First of all, the staff is super rude, and if I see one more douche reading a script on the treadmill I will scream.

Anyway, my normal routine is to go to Hancock Park and jog there since it is relatively safe. Well yesterday's jog turned out to be quite an adventure. First let me explain, that this neighborhood is one of the nicest areas in LA, with huge sprawling mansions worth well in the millions. As I began stretching and warming up, I looked over and out of the gate of a particularly nice mansion pokes the head of the most disheveled looking rich man I have ever seen. He seriously looked like a homeless person. He stood there staring around with his head poking out of the gate for quite some time. I thought, hell no, he better not call somebody because my car is parked in front of his house! Then I thought, how the hell did he get this house?

After that bizarre scene, I started jogging, and not soon after, this small lady comes at me walking these huge Doberman Pinchers. I love dogs, especially big ones. As I come closer, she loses control of them and they start flailing around barking and going crazy. I literally had to fly out into the street to avoid being mauled by one of them.

Then about 10 minutes later, this old lady comes running at me and almost runs right over me. Needless to say she scared the shit out of me. I'm starting to think that Hancock Park has it's own dangers.

On another note, I went to Melanie's new apartment last night. It was so good to see her, as it has been a while. I am very happy for her, because I know she has wanted to get out on her own for a while.

Feeling Blessed

Lately there have been so many bad things happening to the ones I love. This has really made me sit back and reflect on how blessed I truly am. First off, my dear friend Marlene, who I call my angel, just found out her father has a brain tumor. This is shocking and even more sad since her father lives in Sweden. Also last week Connor's dog died. That may sound lame to some people, but he had that dog forever, and it had been part of the family. Andria's grandmother (who she lives with) fell and broke her hip a couple of weeks ago. She had surgery and came home last week to finish recovering. Another matter near and dear to my heart is my sister, who has had a reoccurence of Bell's Paulsy. Finally, today I heard from Tom, who literally has not been able to talk, since he went to a terrible dentist who completely fucked up his mouth, and now the entire side of his face is swollen and infected.

My rant today comes from the fact that I empathize with all of them, and it makes me sad when my friends are sad. I am a very loyal person, and I would give anything for those close to me.

As I said before, I feel very lucky that my biggest complaint is that I had to replace the headlight on my car. Sometimes I get in moods where nothing is good enough, and I always wish I had accomplished more, or that I had more to show for my life. It is in times like this, where I slow down and reflect on everything I have, and I remind myself to be thankful.

Weekend in Review

So the weekend was pretty awesome.  I got to spend time with some friends that I haven't seen in a while.  Saturday I was suppose to meet up with Jess and Jason to celebrate Jay's birthday at a party near my house.  Before meeting up with them I stopped by Conner's house to hang out for a while.  He had been telling me about his place for months and I finally went over to check it out.  Turns out we're practically neighbors.  I met his roommates who are very cool, and we all started talking and eventually settled in to watch Entourage.   By the time I checked my phone, it was super late and I had lost all motivation to go to the party.   Turns out I didn't miss much.  By the time Jess and Jay arrived, everyone was pretty tanked.

I planned on Sunday being very uneventful.  My main goal for the day was to fix my freakin headlight, which had been out for days.  I called Brandon and he said he would be able to take care of it, such a handy man.  Originally, Andria and I had planned on going hiking, and then shopping, but the weather said otherwise.  So after working on music and cleaning for a while, Ian and Johnny came over and we went to have dinner.  Being the gentlemen that they are, both of them refused to leave the house until they had changed my headlight for me.  Of course it only took them like 2 seconds, and we were off.

I hadn't actually seen Jess since before Christmas, so I suggested that we go to Ketchup where she is one of the lovely hostesses.  When we got there it was surprisingly crowded, so Jess took us upstairs to wait at the bar, which is very cool by the way.   Probably an hour and a half later, she comes up and says we probably won't even get seated, since we didn't have a reservation.   Uh fuckin Hollywood, whatever!!!   But we had a great time at the bar and met some really awesome people, so it really didn't bother me.  A few minutes later Jess made it happen, and we actually got a table.  HOLLA!!!   When we finally sat down and looked at the menu, I said, "Hey do you want to go to Mel's instead?  I don't really want anything on the menu."

So we left and ate at Mel's.  Afterward I called Brandon and we all met at the Abbey.  We had a blast and saw a ton of interesting people. Mainly a guy I called Tigger, and 30 Chris Brown look a likes.  Then I went home.

The end.

MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC

This is just a rant about all of the awesome music I am obsessed with right now.  Everyone always asks me what I like or who I'm influenced by, so here is a list of my faves right now.

"Dead and Gone"   T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake

This song is my jam!!!!   T.I. is one of my favorite rappers, also on the list are Lil Wayne (of course) , Lupe Fiasco, and Ludacris.

"Just Dance"  Lady Gaga

(ok but the original version not the crappy Akon remix)

"Are We Human"    The Killers

(what ever it's called)  The best club song ever!!!!

"Kids" and "Electric Feel"   MGMT    Just fuckin awesome!!

"Animal Sounds"   Grand National

"Feeling Good"  "Starlight"    Muse

"Love Hurts"  Incubus

"Se on Fire"   Kings of Leon

These are all of the songs that make me literally stop everything whenever I hear them.  So check them out if you haven't already and enjoy.

Mellow

Yesterday was a nice mellow day. After a pretty hectic day at work, all I wanted to do was veg out at home. And that is exactly what I did. Andria came over and listened to a bunch of my new songs. I always love playing my stuff for my friends because they are honest. It's very interesting for me to hear which ones they respond to and which ones they don't. She gave me a lot of great feedback and encouraging about the new direction my music is going. After that we went to Kabuki for sushi and watched a movie.

That's pretty much it, exciting I know.

CREEEEEPY!

Ok, so some of my posts will require some background info, since there has been so much going on lately.

This one happens to be about my ex whom I shall call Dr. Evil.  Dr. Evil and I were together for 5 years and engaged for 1 of those years.  By the grace of God and the loving smack down my sister gave me, we are no longer together HOORAY!!

Well as far as I know homedude is in jail and has been for  a while.  Don't worry it's not for anything violent, let's just say he stuck his hand in the cookie jar at work.  Well today at work Brandon came in and said, uh I don't know if you noticed but in the passenger side of your car someone has traced the name Dr. Evil (insert actual name) into the dust.

This tells me 2 things.
1. My car is very very dirty
2. Dr. Evil is out free and trying to let me know he's following me

Now there is a slight possibility that it could have been there for a long time, but I think someone, mainly smarty pants observant Brandon would have noticed it before.

So now I am officially freaked out,  but also very annoyed, because everything has been going well and I have been so happy lately.

Don't worry kids!  I won't let that psycho rain on my parade.
